Shock Absorbers - How to Identify

Rather than stocking all of shock absorber brands that we previously had, we have begun to eliminate most of them in favor of the Monroe Magnum, Sensa-trac, Reflex Truck shocks, and Gabriel Gas Ryder VST Series.

We do have a couple of other GREAT brands, Heco, Rugged Trail, AC Delco, but we do not carry the FULL line.

For those of you who are submitting a description of your shocks (for unlisted and obsolete numbers, etc.)

THIS IS WHAT WE NEED:

  • For the Compressed length - Measure from the bottom tip of your shock to the TOP of the MAIN shock body.
  • For the EXTENDED length - Measure from the bottom tip of your shock to the TOP tip of your shock.
  • Please send measurements of any "Threaded Stems" (Sucker stick type mounts).
  • Picture to point to A & B.
  • Send "Diameter" or WIDTH - of top quarter and bottom quarter of your shock.
  • Describe the top and bottom mounts of your shocks.
  • Need "hole" sizes and "Stem" lengths.
  • With this info, we can probably supply your shocks.

CHEVY TRUCKS

Anyone ordering for Chevy Trucks, PLEASE specify WHICH Chevy Truck you have -- Silver ado, Suburban, Sierra, etc.

"Chevy Truck" is just not adequate information as the different types take different shocks in most cases.

REPLACING REAR STRUTS WITH AIR SHOCKS

For those customers that wish to replace REAR STRUTS with AIR SHOCKS, they will have to be RETRO-FITTED by you or your Mechanic/Welder.

Although "brackets" can be made, we offer no advice or solutions for this project, Please refer to your mechanic professionals.
